Video types that are safe for Vegas?
Hello everyone!
I recently tried to put a little video together in Sony Vegas 8 a few days ago, but when I rendered it out to an .AVI file, there was just a black/blank video with no audio. After researching a little bit, I discovered that files with the DivX and XviD codecs don’t work and should NOT be used in Sony Vegas. Of coarse, 4 out of my 5 files were encoded with those codecs.
I was just wondering what type of video/codec is safe to work with and render out of Sony Vegas without any problems.

Basically, any you have a codec for that works is “safe”. Some people have gotten the types you’ve mentioned to work. Others have had terrible problems with them.
