I am trying to make an apparently seamless transition from menu to menu, but having issues with the video transition appearing larger than the interactive menu.

The menu is a .psd file 720×480 and the video is a .mov with the same dimensions.

The effect I am going for is when you click the button it animates, shifting to a different position by the next menu screen. Every aspect of the background should stay the same otherwise.

Even upon burning a DVD, there is a jarring increase in frame dimension when the transition occurs.

    Any suggestions?

I figured out the issue. Encore tends to squish menus down to 720×480 regardless of the fact that it’ll accept 720×486 and 720×540 compositions as menus.

We ran a few tests to confirm this, and ended up rebuilding our menus in Photoshop using a 720×480 template, and used that file to reanimate in After Effects. After doing this we were able to get near seamless video transitions in Encore.
