Video Track Disappeared? Premiere Pro CC
Working with 7.0.1. There is no video track in my timeline, but the video plays through the program monitor. Tried closing the sequence and re-opening. Undocked the panel and maximized the window. Nothing working. I can right click and add a video track, but I can’t see it. (I know it adds a track because if I try to add another track it is one number higher than the previous added track) Did I hit a switch somewhere?

The ‘border’ between the audio and video tracks can be moved by dragging with the mouse…good for when you need less room for one and more room to do detail work in the other.
My first reaction would be to check and see if that border somehow got moved to the top of the panel, leaving the whole thing available for audio tracks and sliding the video tracks off the top of the panel…

Another you can try, go to the Timeline Display Settings (wrench icon), select Expand All Tracks.
If this or Tim’s suggestion doesn’t resolve your issue can you post a screen shot?

Hi – my timeline panel is not working… when I look at the wrench tool, all of the items in the menu are greyed out and not active. I have tried making a new workspace, restarting, opening, closing timeline, etc. but no luck. I’m using windows 7 … any ideas?

Hi Katie,
It looks like your Timeline panel may have been closed. Try going to the Window > Timeline or pressing Shift + 3

My video track has disappeared. I’ve tried everything mentioned here. I’ve even tried to set it back to the original state by deleting and reinstalling the app. could someone please help me here, thank u:-(

Try saving your project with another name. Close the project and open the one with the new name.
My students will sometimes come into class, open their project that was working fine and just an audio track comes up. I have found that saving the project under another name (all I do is add a number after the current file name) and then closing and reopening the new save, they can recover their missing tracks.
