    HI there:

I am using a Kona LH card in a 2.5 Quad G5 with 10.4.2 & FCP 5.0.4 and wanted to know why I would be getting video tear on anything moving in a horizontal manner through the frame. E.G. Name titles moving L-R or even graphic or video images moving horizontally through the frame. It looks like an interlace image, two feilds, when playing back within FCP on an LCD monitor. When I export the file to a QT conversion the problem is still there and becomes even worse when we bring the file into Sorenson Squeeze to convert to an MPEG II Program mode or Elementary mode.

I’ve applied a de-interlace filter, but even that does not work. Oddly, if you export to a
DV codec, there isn’t a problem but the quality just isn’t the same as the QT MP4 or even the standard QT H.264 default.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
