Video specs for consumer film download of a feature documentary film
Hi Everyone,
We are getting a feature documentary film (about the Dalai Lama) ready for customer downloads on a website, and were wondering what Compressor video specs and settings we should use so that the video file will be as universally playable in digital format.
I am assuming the codec should be h.264, but I am not sure of the specs and Compressor settings that we need.
The film was edited in Final Cut Pro, and we have a digital 10 bit uncompressed SD version as a Quicktime file.
We do have an HD version of the film, but will not be offering an HD downloadable version.
Also… the film’s aspect ratio is 4:3, so would we need to make any adjustments to ensure that the original 4:3 aspect ratio plays with the right frame size on all computers.
Should we also consider playability on iphones and ipads when we decide on the specs?
Thank you for your help.
