Video specs
Hello,
An online magazine that our company deals with is requesting videos for their sites. I have a 2min video they can use. They gave me these specs:
File type: Quick Time .mov
Size: 720×480 pixels, DV, DVC-Pro codecs
Compression: H.264 (2 pass, best quality)
Framerate: 29.97 or 23.976
So I exported the video using these specs and it came out over 5000mbs. Is that normal?
I shot in DV, not HD.

Those specs contradict themselves. Do they want DV/DVCPro or H.264? Those are two separate codecs. You can’t have both. I assume the 500MB file is using DV/DVCPro. Vegas does not render Quicktime H.264. You will need Quicktime Pro to do that.

Correct. I rendered using the DVC-PRO codec because the H.264 didn’t work. Now I know why! Of course, I’m still using Vegas 5. Trying to get me company to justify upgrading to Pro 9.
I was confused about DVC-PRO and h.264 as well since they both pop up in the list. I’m thinking they wanted to say MPEG4 instead of h.264?
I’m going to check with the magazine.
