Video quality & feedback
Hi Everyone,
I’ve been doing DSLR filming for about 6 months now, and although I’ve learnt a lot, I’m still not 100% happy with some results I’m getting. I primarily shoot live session films for musicians, and thought I’d post a recent one to get some feedback on what you think works well, and what doesn’t. This film was shot with 2 Canon 650Ds, 1 Canon 50mm 1.4, and 1 Canon 18-135mm. Iso setting on 50mm was 200 and on 18-135mm was 400.
My main issue has been unwanted noise in background of high contrast shots. I wanted to have a very dark background whilst keeping the subject fairly bright, but the camera seemed to struggle getting a clean shot with this. I’ve got a bigger shoot soon, with a full band and want to get some tips!

Also tips on colour grading would be nice, as I’ve also been learning how to use DaVinci Resolve recently.
Cheers!
Dave
