Video Production Grant/Lab
Greetings all,
I am not quite sure were to start this post, so maybe you can point me where I need to go. I teach High School English and Drama by day, and do Video Productions on the side (to help pay the bills so the wife can be home with the kids). I have been doing this for about the last 5 years. Recently I have been given the go ahead to teach a Video Productions class next year, which is really exciting. Here is the take back. I have no lab, but can share one with graphics art. I have been given the ability to have Adobe Premiere Pro (CS2) because they have the site licenses. I want to teach using Vegas 8 Pro, which is what I use. Here is my conundrum. With all the recent cuts in the CA budget there will be no money for this class at all, which is forcing me to look for corporate sponsorship. In the end, I just want to teach a class with current technology. So I am trying to get a projected idea of what I need to ask for.
For me this all revolves around Vegas so if anyone can help me in thinking this through it would be great.I need to:
1) Figure out what kind of student machine that I should use-
something dual core, with 2 gigs. I will have approximately 36 students in each class. I suspect that I will need some pre-built box. HP xw4400 maybe?
2) Monitors? (20 inch 16×9)
3) Teacher machine build?
4) Cameras (in a perfect world I would like to do an Ex-1 for the main class camera, and then about 12-14 class cameras.Would anyone mind weighing in on pointing me in the right direction. I know I have some grant writing ahead of me so any tips would help. Especially if you know a way to encourage Sony to help in the sponsorship/donation.
Thanks,
