Since it’s already Sunday afternoon, it’s probably already too late. However, it would be helpful to know the type of camera you shot it with, the type of file, how you got that file into the computer, etc…

It was a Panasonic AG series that I got from school , but it came w/ no cables , so my dad and I had to transfer the footage fromt he camera to his dvd machine onto a dvd and then I got the film from the dvd and copied it to my computer.

    And it’s a VOB file 150k kb

When I try and drag it from the file and drop it into Vegas it only gives me 8 secs of video , but if I open it w/ let’s say quicktime it’s 5 mins long and all my footage is there.

Instead of dragging the VOB file, instead do a File – Import – DVD Camcorder Disc to import from the DVD. That should correctly give you the full thing.
