I just installed Vegas 9.0a today and am having 2 problems related to the Video Preview window.

    1. When I select video preview on an external monitor, Vegas is not recognizing my secondary display, which is an lcd monitor. I did have the problem sometimes in Vegas 8, but I never figured out a solid solution for it.

    2. This is a totally new problem for me: My video Preview Quality keeps jumping to Preview-Half, on its own. I had it set to Preview-Full and as I’m playing my video, it is jumping to Preview-Half partway through playing. It also does this on other Preview Quality settings.

Anyone else have similar problems and solutions? Thanks!

    I can’t help you with #1 but #2 is a new feature.

From the Pro 9 readme file:

Right-click the Video Preview window and select Adjust Size and Quality for Optimal Playback if you want to emphasize frame rate during preview. When the command is not selected, video quality is emphasized, and the frame rate will be reduced if necessary.

Disable this feature and it’ll act like it did before.
