I need to output a full screen, full resolution video preview to a video projector of a comp that is 1024×768 using square pixels. I can get AE to push a video preview to the projector but not at the full size. The Output device pulldown option that is getting me this far is for a “Digital Cinema Desktop”. The resolution shown under output mode seems to be stuck at 1920×1080 regardless of what resolution my projector is setup as.

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of problem? I can’t even find a more detailed description of what the output mode options are beyond what the manual says which is not much.

Any help would be most appreciated.

what i think you need is a video output card such as Kona3 or Blackmagic (there may be other less costly options). You are using the built-in dvi connections intended for computer monitors, which are not the same as video monitors.

Thanks Adam. But I am going for a standard Computer resolution of 1024×768 and not HD or SD video. Actually I had a successful test last night just by trying some different combinations of the settings. I chose the “raw” option instead of “full screen”. I think that is a bit ironic since what I was after was a full screen display. The “full screen” setting gave me a view about 60% of actual full screen. Weird.
