  • video playing problem…

Posted by Chris Rose on December 18, 2007 at 5:57 am

I have an issue with getting videos to play throughout an animation. I have 8 videos that scale up and down in sequence and for some reason I cannot get the individual videos to play. They are stuck on a single frame of the actual movie(not the first one) and will not play either when I do a RAM preview, scroll through the animation, or actually render the movie.

Do you guys have any ideas. I can play the footage by double click on it in the project tab (I’m sure there is a specific name for it…but I am new to this software).

    Thanks a bunch,
    Chris

You haven’t provided much information to help with a diagnosis.

What file format and/or codec is used by your video clips? How many seconds/frames do they take up in the timeline?

The video clips are either .mov’s or .avi’s rendered from another AE file with no compression.

The weird thing is, it all worked before and when we tried to render it out before it was working, but we didnt have enough time to let it render so we came up with a solution through premiere.

What does that mean? What is your solution through premiere?

Also, .mov and .avi are container files that aren’t associated with any one specific codec.

We came up with a temporary thing using premiere, adding the video and doing a cross dissolve between the movie. It wasn’t anything like what we wanted before. Just purely temporary because premiere would render it faster.

When I go to view the file properties, it shows them all as having them uncompressed, it does not list a specific codec.

One more thing that might help is that I am doing this on a macbook pro running osx tiger.

    Thanks
