I installed a Kona2 and would like to use it to monitor while editing.

I am still editing at low-res (miniDV offlineRT codec).
Eventually I will online 1080i, but for now my raid is still RAID 5 and I’m editing at low-res).

What audio/video settings configuration do I need to monitor?

I’ve already set up a RGB Sony monitor from the Kbox and can see Mac desktop, but cannot find the correct external playback/K2 control panel setup to monitor the footage at offlineRT.

    Thanks in advance.

As far as I know the Kona 2 does NOT support offline RT monitoring. Use all of the AJA easy setups as reference to what you are able to monitor through the Kona 2. However, I think you are able to capture to offline RT through the Kona, just not view it though your monitor.

If you are editing HD offline, and you have the space, I would recommend using the DVDCPOHD codec. You can then monitor it in actual HD or down-convert it and monitor it in SD.

Not to step on Jared, but you can view DV’s offlineRT thru the kona… just set it’s output to be 29.97 NTSC. I checked this out just now, and it works…

    Jerry,

I was referring to the Photo-JPEG offline RT. I don’t seam to have a setup for a DV offline RT. Am I missing something?
