Video playback after using other application
I just switched to Premiere Pro CC from FCP7. If I use another application after I open PP, like Firefox or even finder, the play buttons within PP do not do anything. Both preview and source monitors are the same.
I have mapped Playback preferences to F1 on the keyboard, and going there and checking or unchecking the box for “Disable video output when in the background” seems to wake up the playback function. It doesn’t matter if it is checked or unchecked when I open up the prefs – just changing it to the other option fixes the issue.
This is not playback to an external video monitor – just on the mac monitor. And, it is not that I expect it to play while I am in another application, I just want it to play when I come back to PP and click play or hit the spacebar.
Thanks.
