Video output to DVD
In Avid DV Express (PC) I always laid the sequence to tape and then recaptured in Ulead DVD Movie factory, lower field dominant, to make really good DVD’s. I tried the same method from my Macbook Pro 2.4 ghz with Final Cut but got artifacting on any scene with movement in it. However, I made a quicktime reference movie to create a DVD with IDVD and it was flawless. I’ve tried making DVD’s from quicktime reference on the (PC) and they had artifacting, hence the tape transfer method. The output video from Final Cut looks good on a monitor. I’m going to try changing the field dominance in Ulead. Does anybody already know the answers to these mysteries?
