Video output dropping out re-visited
Hi Luke,
I wrote on these boards a few weeks ago about our SDI output dropping out, but I didn’t have enough data to solve the problem.
After watching the behaviour of our FCP system for the past week or so, it seems as though our SDI output konks out any time we
a) change our input from FirewireDV to Blackmagic NTSC – DV. Or for that matter, to any of the blackmagic codecs that I tried (I didn’t try them all – 8 bit, 10 bit, DV50, to name a couple)
b) Change which window is active with the the Edit to Tape window open (for example, having the ETT window open, and trying to adjust something on the timeline)I have tried trashing the preferences, and the video output is always set to Blackmagic NTSC 8 bit, all frames. The only way we have found to restore the video ouptut is a full G5 re-boot. This only affects the SDI output – our Y output remains stable.
We are running BM Decklink 5.7 drivers, FCP 5.1.1, quicktime pro 7.1.3, dual 2.0 GHz G5, 2GB RAM, decklink pro card.Any suggestions you might have to solve this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much!
Craig
