This is a problem that exists in FCP 5 and 6. I don’t know if this is a Blackmagic thing or an Apple thing.

If I change my Easy Setup, it does not change the video output. Since upgrading to version 6 I now am using 10-bit (ProRes) projects along with 8-bit (DVCPro) and switching back and forth regularly. The fact that Video Output doesn’t change with it is rather dangerous. I garantee that me or another editor here will overlook it and unknowingly output a 10-bit project using the 8-bit video output.

I believe its an apple thing.

You just have to check/change that everytime.

I was really hoping apple would link the video output with the easy setup but its not doing that yet.

I never had the out-put changed when changing easy set-ups. I always had to chage it manually. But in my case I can not mistake an 8b sequence being read as 10b or the opposite. My BM its only out-put a freeze frame in those cases.
