[NICK B] “Looks to me like it will hold 3 P2 cards if your sad like me and advance through the video frame by frame there is 1 frame of 3 blue things that look like P2 cards but i could be wrong !”

Those could be tailfins, ya think? 😉

Disclaimer: Of course, this movie could be a total fake. I’m not intimately familiar with the current DVX100a to know if this video is actually a bunch of close-up of the current cam or not. It looks extremely similar to the DVX100a. Anyone care to comment?

Look at the https://www.rich-lee.com/ homepage. This guy seems to have the requisite skills to make a fake “adv”. Or make a real one. Who knows?

I noticed the cam in the video has a “Push/close” label molded into the plastic case @ about the 8 & 10 sec. point in the video. Could this be the standard label for a TAPE cassette door??

Of course, this is a heavily-edited video of what may or may not be a prototype/mockup … Dang! Don’t you just love modern advertising?!

Apparently the prototype has 3 CCDs, ND filters, some controls on its handle, blue tail fins, gain switches, auto-focus (which probably means a built-in lens), …

    I think it’s a fake adv.

    All the best,

    – Peter

So why didn’t we hear about this 5 days ago? (April 1st.)

I think the “scream” at the end of the “adv” is a nice touch. I’d like to see more of that kind of humor in Panasonic’s real advertising. 😉

Plus, the music and naration style is so retro!

    All the best,

    – Peter

It’s a DVX. Rich Lee is fairly famous on DVXUser for adding that screaming zombie in all sorts of ads and videos, to scare people to death.

There’s nothing legit about the ad, it’s merely an attention-getter to suck people in so that when the zombie hits, they’ll freak out… 🙂
