  Video not showing up on import

  I have a small crisis. Got a client who has captured and cut a rough edit on i-movie. ver unknown. Shot on a sony handycam with a hard drive. So the plugged it into the mac and captured all the video. I am typically a pc user… So after pulling my hair out trying to figure a way to convert the file to something my box would recognize i went to the local apple store to see what I was dealing with.

  Had a bunch of sample files on a jumpdrive, jacked them in and voilla everything imported into final cut played well and all was happy. Spent an hour seeing if i could drive this particular car, which, would be a slow drive as its new… but went and rented a system with final cut for a week to cut this show. 5 min video docu style, fairly concise script… shouldn’t be a problem 5 days… 2 for tweaks…

  Well I now have the fcp/mac and the files will import but no video again. The codec it said when i was on the pc was a m2v1. Just looking for some advice, thoughts, ideas.

  If i can’t figure it out.. back to the apple store, but with computer in hand.

  i really appreciate you guys and your wisdom. (this may also be my excuse to add this platform to our studio, been looking for a really good reason)
