Sorry but I never use XviD so I can’t recommend any converters.

Try Super. I have it and have used it on occasion to convert a file to a more workable file for editing. Here is the link: https://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

You will probably have to click a few times to get to the download page but it is a good program and has helped me out on several occasions. Also, it is free.

The trouble is that most of the “new, fangled codecs” (Divx, Xvid, etc) use something called DirectShow. Vegas doesn’t cooperate too well with DirectShow-based codecs — it likes the old reliable type of AVI, Video for Windows (aka, VfW).

Download and install ffdshow. It will make it so Vegas can interpret DirectShow files without you having to add a bunch of errant codecs to your system.

Hi everyone, i just upgraded to vegas pro 9 64bit on win 7.

I had vegas 6 on xp and i used to render to mpeg2 and using divx codecs without problem, but i cant exaclty remember how i did that..
now i just installed ffdshow but i cant see any new video format in the render window of vegas.

what i’m missing??

How do I utilize the fddshow with Vegas 9.0c? I’m new to all this and am totally confused. My high def camcorder transfers avi files to my hard drive that Vegas can’t read. I hear the audio but the video screen is blank. So frustrating.
