Video not exporting in correct resolution
I have this video I’m trying to export to YouTube but it keeps showing black boxes around it even though the file played in quicktime shows it full frame at 180p. Here is a screenshot of the export settings and a link to the video for review.
Anyone know what I’m doing wrong? I’ve done this thousands of time before and it’s never had this problem.

Narrow black bars are usually an aspect ratio issue.
Might want to check the sequence aspect ratio (it is set to 0.9)———————————————–

yes it is set to 0.9. Even the program monitor in premiere shows no black bars

Your pixel aspect should be set to Square Pixels (1.0).
With your current setting AME is taking your 16:9 Video and squeezing it to 4:3 which is for SD and not HD.

how come I’ve never had to select square before. Every other time I’ve just set the youtube preset exported and it’s been fine.

okay, that didn’t work. When I select square pixels I get this. tiny black bars still.

Ok, both your Sequence and Export Settings must be set to Square Pixels (1.0).
1920×1080 is and has always been Square Pixels.
D1/DV NTSC (0.9091) is specific to only 720×480 SD DV Video and not 720×486, 720×540 SD or 1920×1080 HD.

got it. I wonder how the sequence settings changed. I exported this sequence before for DVD and it didn’t have black boarders. Weird. Anyway I changed it back to square

Since you mention DVD’s there frame size is 720×486 and not 720×480.
We can thank Sony for that stupid 720×480 frame size when they introduced the DV tape Format. Oh yeah and at that time SD was Upper Field and Sony decided they’d make DV Lower Field so Dissolves always looked like Crap. Man gotta love non standardization.
