  • Video noise and grain clean up

Posted by Eric Merklein on December 1, 2015 at 5:57 pm

I’m on Premiere Pro 2015 and I cannot find the video effect that is supposed to help clean up video noise and grain. I have sources that were shot in low light and it needs clean up bad!

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks.

There isn’t one. Get Neat Video or a similar plugin.

Red Giant has Denoiser II. works great. You get a free trial but the plugin is like $80 or something.

I second both NeatVideo and Denoiser II. Both work great. If you have a slower GPU and a low amount of RAM, NeatVideo would be a better bet, Denoiser II tends to bog down your workflow quite a bit when it’s being used.

I can vouch for Denoiser II. Excellent results.

    Hello Christopher.

I tried this and even with my HPZ820 with 36 gigs of ram on board and great processors, it is VERY SLOW.

Rendering a 5 second segment took forever. I’ll be calling them later today to see if they have any way to speed things up.

    Many thanks.

I just had this battle with them. I have the HP Z230 workstation with a 4GB GPU and 32GB of ram, and it bogs down my entire workflow. For some reason, it doesn’t happen on my Mac Pro workstation. I switched from Denoiser II on my PC to Neat Video, same results, but faster render times.
