    Video noise

    Greetings,

    I have two Sony Cameras, an XDCAM EX PMW-EX1R and an XDCAM EX PMW-100. The PMW-100 is a recent purchase.

    Both cameras are giving me quite a bit of video noise. I’ve tried several solutions including: using different lights, reverting to the factory presets, adjusting the iris, etc. I still have noise.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Is the gain turned up in any way? Can you post a pic?

    Actually, my gain is set at -3.dB. Here’s a pic. The noise shows up mostly in the chart and in the grey. When the footage is running it looks like crawling ants. It also shows up in the green of my chroma key shots quite a bit.
