    Hi all,

i’m using a blackmagic SP card to capture beta footage from PVW-2800. I’ve used this card alot at home and never had problems.

But this is a different deck and i’m not sure it’s set up properly.

Anyhow, i’ve got all my cables set up properly, in fact i’ve only got the Video input, audio input and serial controller plugged in.

My shooter insists his video looks better than what is being captured. The footage does look a bit blown out i will admit.

I went into the Decklink settings under system preference but didn’t find anything that will change it.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Help???

The PVW-2800 is a Betacam desk, isn’ it? And I guess that you are capturing Components. Isn’it?
With that desk you can adjust the output of your signal because have a beautiful TBC.
If you would have a desk without TBC, you can adjust the video signal when capturing with your BM. In the he Decklink preference pannel (System preferences) you have the “Pro Amp” tab to make all the adjustments.
If your tapes have some bars you can use them to make the adjustments. Tweak the desk TBC levels or the “Pro Amp” levels so the bars look OK in the FC VideoScope.
