I have a few clips in my timeline that seem to lighten up when I play them and darken when I stop. I have a brightness/contrast, a three way color corrector, and a levels filter on all of them.

Is FCP just compensating for my lack of ram by only preview rendering two out of the three filters?… When I export my video will it render properly?…

DRIVE SPEED most likely. Sounds like you have higher end footage playing back on firewire drives or something, and FCP is lowering the resolution to allow smoother playback.

Check to see if the View-Range Check is on/off. I remember that sometimes causes your problem if it’s ‘On’.

It could also look like that during playback if the background for the Canvas is set to white instead of black. There is nothing wrong with your video if that’s the case.
