  • Video level shift after render?

I’ve imported a DPX sequence into premiere. Monitoring the DPX on the waveform it looks like this: https://d.pr/i/WN5M
After rendering out to Prores, or MXF, it looks like this: https://d.pr/i/H3UH

Even if I have the video limiter effect on the video track.
What could be the problem? (tried rendering every possible ways)

Im looking at the waveforms side by side. Where do you see a difference?

top, and bottom. Not a big change, but could be enough to create illegal levels…
Here’s another example, check the vertical green line on the right: https://d.pr/i/Xv22

    Yes, I see that.

Just a wild guess. Are you going from a 10 bit media to an 8 bit export codec?

Yes. 10bit DPX, or 10bit Prores to 8bit MXF.
