    Hello All,

    I have had a problem with one specific video for a few months and am seeking answers. I have an unboxing which can be found here https://youtu.be/fQbn-O5X82I and it starts to get choppy when I cut open the box and view the contents. I know the computer(s) I have been using aren’t THE BEST and my Vegas is old but due to not enough funds can’t upgrade, however I never had a problem like this before.

    I use Sony Vegas Platinum 10

    PC Specs
    Processor
    Class: AMD Phenom(tm) 9950 Quad-Core Processor
    8GB RAM
    GeForce GT 730

    I try to render as a MainConcept MP4
    Stereo, AAC
    Video: 29.970 fps, 1920×1080 Progressive, YUV, 15 Mbps
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.000

    Or a Sony AVC

    Audio: 192 Kbps, 48,000 Hz, 32 Bit, Stereo, AAC
    Video: 29.970 fps, 1920×1080 Progressive, YUV, 8 Mbps
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.000

    Tried with a variable Bitrate and Constant. Also tried rendering as a WMV
    The clips have a FPS as 29.02 because I converted them from my Note 5 with VLC because it wouldn’t open but the source files look great. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to have the video look good.

    Hi Tommy

    If I am reading correctly, your original file that you dropped in Vegas has a 29.02 FPS. Vegas doesn’t like that very much.

    It’s always trying to catch-up, hence the choppiness.

    Try converting your file to a 29.970 FPS and that should do the trick. You can use Handbrake or any other decent converter.

    VLC has a built in feature that does caching in order to deliver the output at a steady rate.

    Never base the quality of your footage on the output from VLC.

    Don’t get me wrong, VLC is a great player, just not a good reference.

    The 29.02 FPS is the cause of your issues as Francois also mentioned,
    Convert them first to 29.970 FPS
