Activity Forums Avid Media Composer Video lag

    Hi,
I’m editing with Avid Xpress DV on my PC with plenty of ram. I use a Sony DSR-11 deck. When I log video, a few minutes after I begin I get a lag. In other words, what I see for my in points is not what I get, it is always a couple seconds off. Also, the sound and video don’t always match. To work around this, I digitize large amounts of video and then create subclips but it’s tough scrolling through the initial looooong clips.

I am about to upgrade my system with a new Dell PC and am considering upgrading to Avid Xpress Pro. I do not create sophisticated graphics, but I do want real-time logging and capturing. Would a Mojo correct this? What is the best solution?

    Thanks,
    EJ

Is it simply capturing a little before the selected the clip, or are you actually missing footage you had marked by timecode for capture?

I am not missing footage. When I mark an in point it takes it a little late.
