We’re looking into supporting ipod video downloads on our website which unfortunately is mainly WMV. I’ve messed around with a ipod video and was able to open it in Real Media Player.
Anybody know if it will open in Windows Media Player? I tried with the Mac version and wasn’t able to get it to work. Curious if it will work on a PC?

To open .m4v you need Quicktime. Apple did that by design. When one downloads iTunes on the PC one also downloads Quicktime. I know of no hack nor hook that would allow Window Media Player to open .m4v. You can convert WMV file to .m4v files on the Mac with Flip4Mac though and I’ve heard of people finding ways to do that on the PC.

That’s what I thought but why can I open a ipod video in Real Player?
