    Hi All.
I have a JVC camera that creates the annoying MOD files.
When using Sony Vegas 9 I had to convert the files to make them readable, But when I upgraded to version 10 it accepted the file as a MOD, But now Iv upgraded to Vegas 11 the files seem to be interlacing and Tearing quite badly. I turned interlace footage off and put the built-in de-interlace filter on the footage but nothing seems to work.
I checked the original footage and its not tearing there, only in the Vegas work files.
I didn’t have this problem is Vegas 9, so what’s the new changes to this update and how can I fix it.
    Thanks
    Thomas

My first recommendations would be to buy a new camera that shoots an industry standard format like HDV or AVCHD. You will waste more time trying to get files from that camera to work then it’s worth. (unless you’re retired and have nothing better to do than debug camera issues)

Second I would report the problem to Sony. If the files worked in Vegas Pro 10 and stopped working in Vegas Pro 11 chances are it’s a bug that only Sony can fix.

In the mean time, you might want to convert the files to a format that is easier to edit like CineForm using NeoScene. This would solve your problems all together (short of selling the camera) but check first if NeoScene can handle these non-standard MOD files.

I just finished a project using .MOD files from a JVC Camera. The solution that works for me (using Vegas 9) is to change the file extension from .MOD to .VOB. No conversion needed.
