  • Video in unsupported format?

Hi guys, hope you can help me with this issue.
I have a bunch of uncompressed avi’s in my timeline. I’ve been working with them and editing them just fine.
However, After effects is no longer allowing me to view the videos that were previously working. I get this error dialog now when I open the project:

After Effects error: File “XXX.avi” cannot be opened, it may be in an unsupported format. (86 :: 1)

What’s going on here? Why don’t they work any more? Can I fix this?

    Thanks!

one of the solution I know is make those AVIs image sequences then apply or import to the project. it’s worth to try…

Thanks, but I got it working. I don’t think After Effects was having the problem. I’m not sure how it happened, but I needed to download some codecs.

I don’t claim the safety of this link, but I know that it worked for me and my computer seems fine to me. Avi Codec Pack Pro 2.4 did the trick:
