video hits
does anyone know what could be causing video hits or stutter/blips as I’m laying off my FCP file to Beta tape. I’m laying off to a Sony Betacam SP UVW-1800 deck. My files are about 45 minutes each and the video hits happen only occasionally. At first I thought it would only happen when I tried to go back and make a change and restart the file with a new timecode/starting inpoint, but it seems to happen randomly too. By video hit, I mean the picture looks like it cuts out or stutters real quick, sometimes there’s 4 or 5 plus hits in a row.

Fast enough disks for playback? Abort on dropped frames turned off?
What kind of video codec) are you playing back and from what kind of disk drives?

What video card do you have? Are you supplying sync all the way around?

the video hits are still there during playback too

I’m using EZquest 250GB external drives, via 6 pin firewire cables. I seem to have sync (stable monitor image) with my Horita BG-50 blackburst generator. Now my audio is going out of sync too. not sure what Video card I have hooked up, but I think it’s decent (Apple G5 computer)
