  • Video has dropped frames, how can I repair?

Posted by Teddy Foyle on December 2, 2020 at 3:26 pm

I have some video files that when the camera recorded at 24fps either the camera glitched or the CD card was too slow and it looks like every 2 frames may have been missing as playback is not smooth. Is there any way to repair this hour long set of files to try and smooth out playback and make it less jerky? I have tried to look up fixes but it’s making my head spin.

Where do you notice this issue?

Camera glitch, do you mean that at playback (in-camera) you see the frame drop issues?

CD card? Do you mean SD card and that you are reading it off that?

If it plays fine in-camera then copy the file to a faster drive (local if you have no options) and check playback. I would use VLC or import to Premiere but then we need to discuss converting to something editable say ProRes.
