  Video freezing in multicamera edit

  Hi there,

  I am currently trying to edit a multicam project in Premiere 5.5. I have four 1920×1080 video sources; a line cut and three isos. I’ve built a sequence that syncs all four together then a nested sequence in which I enable multicamera editing.

  When I open the multicamera preview split/program window and play back the project it plays for about a second then starts to lock up intermittently for about another second then freezes completely. When I stop the playback it refreshes the multicamera windows to the frame I stopped it on. When I resume playback it starts the same problem all over again.

  I’m not convinced it’s a lack of hardware as task manager shows I’m only hitting 25% of my CPU (core i7) and only about 5.5gb of the 16gb of available system memory. Note while the multicamera window is locking up, the program monitor window behind it plays fine. I’ve tried closing the program window but still have the same issue with the multicamera window.

  Suggestions?
