Video Format Question
I’ll be making a video (motion design) for a client that will be distributed (through dvd) on Australia(PAL), Europe(PAL/NTSC) and USA(NTSC).
I’m using After Effects and I’m not sure which format to work on.
I’m planning to deliver 2 versions one PAL and NTSC.
The project is long, so I can only afford to work on one (NTSC or PAL). Then I’m planning to convert from NTSC to PAL or vice versa.
Should I go with PAL 24 frames or NTSC 30 (29.97) frames?
Interlaced or progressive? Square or non-square pixel?

Is this HD or SD? Is there video footage or is all of it motion graphics you create in AE?
I would work in whichever format you want and then nest your comp in the comp of the other frame rate when you’re ready to render that country’s version. AE simply interpolates the keyframe data so it works out really nicely.

Thanks Michael. That was very helpful.
I might create it in 1280x720p, all graphics in AE, there might be a need to add stock videos (this is where the frame rate issue comes in I guess).
