  Video Format Query

  I am compiling a video for a friend for a tribute to be played a university professors retirement.

  Most of the footage will be interviews which will be filmed by me using a Nikon D800 DSLR (*.mov). There will be footage supplied by people who are either not attending or cannot be here on the shoot date(s).

  This footage will be filmed on various cameras and I will be importing it in Vegas Pro 11 to edit.

  Question is, what specs/format do I need to ask that the footage be supplied? Obviously I want it to be filmed in 16:9 but I am more worried about different cameras having different file extensions that may not be Vegas Pro 11 supported and/or friendly.
