A project I’m finishing results in a few scenes having quite noticeable video flicker after rendering and encoding. The flicker is a quick momentary brightness shift in the brighter portions of the picture at a random non-uniform rate of a few flashes a second. It’s scene-specific, doesn’t occur most of the time. I’m guessing it has something to do with the fact that the video is noisy – it was shot in a dim chapel, gain at 15 on PD150’s. NLE is Premiere Pro, of course (since I’m asking here) encoded with ProCoder, VBR 1 pass. (Its temporal noise filter on/off doesn’t impact he problem.) I intend to try another encoder and see if the PPro filters are part of the problem. Any thoughts?
