    Hello,
I want to bid on a video editing job but have never done so. The job is editing 50 hrs of footage (two cameras) down to about 15 hours. The customer wants it to be very basic with simple transitions. They are supplying the hard drives to store the footage on and I have to use my software and my machine. What would someone normally charge for this type of job?

I would charge $50 per hr. but the rates can vary widely depending on how fast you are as a editor and if you are well known. I have heard of rates from $20 per hr. to $175 per hr. but the more expensive rates are for heavy graphics work etc.

It is impossible to answer your question without knowing how good you are or how fast you are . . .
