Haven’t been able to apply any cross dissolve effects in my project. Am using scene detection on a flattened quicktime.

Will I need to go back into my NLE and export individually just those clips that need a cross dissolve?

If you preconform you sequence with an EDL, all the dissolves will be in place.

I think he meant if he has one long file that is cut up by scene cut.

Yes to the above. Using scene detection. Instead of deleting my dissolves BEFORE exporting to flattened QuickTime, should I instead leave them in, and manually cut down the middle?
I would then need to recreate them in Resolve.
This has been suggested elsewhere but I thought it made more sense to delete the dissolves first.

Preconforming will take a flattened QuickTime (even with dissolves) and slice it up based on an EDL. However, since you’ve already graded it, that wouldn’t do you much good. I think recreating the dissolves in resolve is you best bet, but if it comes up again, I’d use the preconform workflow if possible.
