Video Dimensions Are Different Upon Import into Premiere Pro
Hello,
I’m in a bit of a jam. I made a very large video file (4096 x 4096) with the intention of chopping it down to smaller dimensions in Premiere Pro. Upon importing the video file into PP, I see that it’s dimensions are now drastically different. I’ve attached a screenshot of the video info from Quicktime:
And the similar info from PP:
Any help discerning why the imported video file is so much smaller would be wonderful. Thank you!

I’d like to also acknowledge the fact that both info boxes show the dimensions 892 x 891. Why wouldn’t the “Normal Size” as shown in Quicktime be the default in PP?

I don’t know what kind of Mickey Mouse Unicorn stuff that Perian is but the standard H264 levels do not support that resolution. More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC#Levels

20 frames per second is also quite non-standard. How did you create this video clip and how do you intend to deliver – web, YouTube, Blu-ray? Delivery formats are never square. Another little issue. Some pre-planning can go a long way.
