Video in FCP appears darker on my Apple Cinema Display then it does on my calibrated EXTERNAL monitor. The Apple Cinema Display is caibrated with a Spyder2 and calibration appears to be correct (using Photoshop images are the same in print and on Apple display). But when watching clips in FCP on both the external monitor and the apple monitor at the same time, the external looks normal and the apple monitor looks dark. Without the benefit of the external monitor would think that the video in FCP needed brightening. Could I be doing something wrong?

All video within FCP is an estimation.

Any one of several LCD displays can give you different results. DVI vs. VGA etc.

You can only trust the FCP scope, an external scope and an external NTSC monitor setup properly.
