    Hi,
I have imported an HD clip into Premiere and when I load it into my source monitor it looks fine but when I splice it into my timeline and look at it in my record monitor it is severly cropped or zoomed in. I do not want this because when I export, obviously it is cropped as well. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Is your sequence set to the correct resolution. An example of that would be bringing 1080 footage in a 720 timeline.

If trying to use HD footage in an SD timeline, you need to right-click the clip on the timeline and select “Scale to Frame Size”. This can be set as a default in Preferences, then any clips imported after that will be automatically scaled.

If you mean to be working in HD, then as Vince said, make sure Project settings match the footage
