i have pages of a book. i have mov’s applied to a material and placed on the relevant pages.
Can someone tell me, how i can have more control over my video clips. for example, i don -

The controls you want are in the Animation tab of the Bitmap Shader dialog of the movie in the material. You probably want to set Timing to Range by the sound of it.
