Video card, Post FX.
Hello, I have been running a few benchmarks trying to decide which video card would be best for Blue under high workloads. I have a Quadro FX1500 with 256MB RAM and I was assuming that a newer
9500 GT 1G RAM would rock the Quadro 1500, but according to tests run on
MSI Kombustor that does not seem to be the case, expect when I check off Post FX.At any point in the preview process does BLUE or RED use Post FX from our video cards?
At 800×600 and Full screen the Quadro is 27FPS faster, even with AA on from 2x,4x,.. etc the FX is around 20FPS better.. only when I get up to 1280 x 1024 do the cards balance out. which is most likely the resolution i will be working on.
Only when Post FX is set does the 9500 GT out perform Quadro by half!
So my questions are..
If Blue needs more texture memory, how could 1G be slower the 256MB?Quadro is using OpenGL 2.0 vs 3.0 on 9500 GT, so do video cards with
OPenGL 3.0 – 4.0 and up actually increase performance in RED/BLUE?If that benchmark (MSI) tells me nothing about how things will really work once im running Blue, any programs I could run?
I just want to make the right decision and avoid back and forth with drivers before I install everything..
Thank you for any feedback in helping me decide !
