    Hey all,
I have a Canon ZR800 mini dv cam and I’m tring to import footage into Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9.0 via firewire.
In my computers device manager it shows a yellow exclaimation point next to the Texas Instruments 1394bus card controller.
    Any help would be great,
    thanks, Jim.

A yellow exclamation point indicates a problem with the controller. The standard correction steps probably include checking for new drivers, uninstall, and reinstall the controller. If Windows can’t see the camera, Vegas will not see it either.

    Thanks Bob,
I have been on a mission with this for a while, I’ve been to Geek-Squads Tech. also Microcenter Tech. and they can’t get to the bottom of it either. I have done the things you said and I still get the same thing. In device manager while double clcking on the 1394 controller I get ( error code 10)
    Thanks again,
    Jim.

Could be bad hardware. Have you tried another 1394 controller?

Hi John, thanks for the reply.
This is the 3rd. card I’ve tried.
The one I am trying to get to work now IS (SIIG inc. / RoHS )
The last one was made by Dynex.
I forget the name of the other, I’m beginning to think it’s my PC, something must be wrong internally, I don’t know.
    Thanks again,
    Jim.

Either something with your PC or your OS is really messed up and in need of a reload.

    Thanks John,
last summer I had a major crash, had to do a disc recovery. My guess is something got lost in the process. I’m getting ready to buy a new desktop PC dedicated to my Video & Audio production.
I have to say though, having to put s project on hold for a couple weeks drives me crazy.
    Thanks again,
    Jim..
