video blackout during training
I am following the training DVD that came with the fcp and suddenly, I can’t see any video. No offline warning and I closed the program and reopened.

Are you saying that you can no longer see video in fcp? Or on whatever you were viewing your training DVD.
If it is FCP – Go up to the VIEW Menu and make sure you didn’t accidentally hit the shortcut to ‘WIREFRAME’ Should be set to either IMAGE or IMAGE + WIREFRAME depending on your preferences.

I accidently discovered that but now I KNOW the way out of blackness.

meanwhile my DVD training continues… I’m a producer so I’m a little slow. -
Hey Scott,
The green check is letting you know that your luma levels are safe for broadcast. Turn it off by going to:
View Menu —-> Range Check —-> Off

You’ve hit “UNDO” as if you were on Windows.
CNTRL Z adds/removes the luma range check
