    Hey Community,

A buddy of mine recorded a podcast episode and ran into a major issue upon reviewing the footage. He’s never had this issue before, but unless it can be corrected the whole episode has to be scrapped (majorly unfortunate, especially considering the lengths his guest had to go through to make an appearance).

For reference, here is a 30 second clip of the podcast that showcases the problem: https://youtu.be/ThUT0IUZLIY

The equipment used to record is as follows:

    Sound: Rode rodecaster pro 2

Cameras: Sony fx3 and Sony A7

Computer: Mac Mini (I’m thinking this might be the culprit, these can struggle with live recording/OBS at high quality)

    Recording software: OBS

I’ve tried various methods to eliminate what -could- be repeated frames… ie Premiere Pro’s Interpret Footage, ffmpeg, handbrake conversion from VBR to CBR, Shutter Encoder… nothing has remotely improved the footage or audio.

Does *anyone* have any ideas either about what could have caused this or even a way to fix it? Is this something that After Effects could accomplish where the other programs failed?

Note: It’s not just that the audio skips or loops — it’s clear that the skip/loop overrides what was said a fraction of a second prior to the skip. I’m thinking that there’s substantial data loss here and that even if the stuttering was corrected, that audio data loss isn’t recoverable because it may not have even been recorded.
