    I work on a 52min documentary movie… FCP 6 g5 quad
all my audio and video footage are on separate volume

i can’t figure why one of my clip lost his connection whit his audio and now when i try to reconnect it, it’s show as a unique clip with embedded audio!

In my time line an audio track with noise as replace my old audio track !

in my hard drive Video i see the xxx-v
in my hard drive Audio i see the xxx-a

but now i need to reconnect them together !!!!!

i think that when the link was broken quicktime just create a new audio track (noise)
and now even i delete the audio track noise in quicktime (show movie properties) there no way to connect my old and good one

    can anyone can help me????????

Did you split them during capture or is this audio recorded separately and you’re syncing them back in the timeline?

    i split during capture
it seem that the xxx-a file is corrupt
    i dont know why
but quicktime can’t open this file it around 600mg

i think that separate audion and video method is’nt enough clean for work on larger project next time i will capture them together on the same hard drive

i think that my only way is to try to capture this tape again and manually fix it or check if i get this file uncorrupt on a separate hard drive as a backup!!!!!

[jonathan seaborn] “i split during capture”

Never never never split the files. They will become corrupted as you have discovered.
