I must be forgetting something, because I have done this before, but it is not working now. I want to play a VHS tape through my digital camera and capture it in Vegas. The connections are good and settings are right on the VHS player and camera because I can briefly see the VHS tape playing in the Vegas capture preview, but then I get a message to “load a tape” [meaning load a tape in the digital camcorder as if I were capturing the tape from there] on the capture preview screen. I assume I need to check something in the capture options, but can’t find it. TIA, Jim

Jim, you could try disabling, if it’s enabled, the DV Control. In the Sony Video Capture screen, select the menu Preference under Options, and the tab General. Unselect the first option that says “Enable DVD device control”, and try again.

    Have an ice day 😉
