I’m starting pre work on a short film. There is a scene where the actress is going crazy and seeing things that are not really there or happening. The scene calls for a shot of her looking at a wall as she suddenly sees a crack form along the wall out of nowhere. Is there anyway to make this happen using Vegas?

Using Vegas alone it might be pretty hard. Unless you had a shot of a crack with a wall that you could key out. After effects would probably be the answer. I have it but haven’t had time to learn it yet.

Can you import footage into vegas from AE?

I’ve added effects to a clip using AE, rendered it, then took that new video file and dropped it into Vegas. Not sure what other work flow you could do using AE.
